What Is Palliative Care?
Palliative Care helps to make life as comfortable as possible for sufferers of advanced progressive illnesses and their families. The aim is to provide management of pain, psychological and spiritual support, and maximise independence.
Although historically associated with the later stages of cancer, it is now a term more widely accepted to be a part of supportive care for those living with a variety of debilitating conditions and terminal illnesses such as dementia, heart failure, Huntingdon's disease and Multiple Sclerosis, amongst others.
What We Do
We provide highly trained and experienced palliative care staff to assist and support terminally ill clients in their own home.
We tailor our services individually, according to the needs of the client. We are aware that each client may require varying hours, depending on the client's social circumstances; such as night-sits, sleep-overs, day-time calls and full 24-hour packages.
We realise that stability and continuity of care is vital to clients and their families. We endeavour to maintain consistency in terms of staff cover. This helps to build rapport and develop a trusting relationship between staff and the client, along with preserving the dignity of clients during personal care tasks.
